overcoming adversity

Episode 78 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about overcoming adversity and how to change your health in spite of any challenges.

In this episode, you’ll meet David, a 45-year-old father of two who has lost over 40 pounds on the Fit Father Project.

That alone is an amazing transformation, but what's truly profound about David's story is that he changed his health and fitness in spite of so much.

David suffers from spinal stenosis, which causes muscle spasms and tons of back pain.

He also has a genetic heart condition that led to him having open-heart surgery in his 30s.

This is some serious stuff that David had to work through!

Listen to David's story:

When you see a man overcome such tremendous adversity, it shows us all that we can do it too.

We all deal with challenges and adversity. Maybe it’s medical conditions. Or maybe it’s just because you think you’re ‘too old’ or can’t change due to past injuries or family genetics.

David had doubts, but he found a way to break through them. You can too.

David shares a lot of wisdom about how he changed his mindset and what any of us can do when faced with limitations or challenges.

I really loved this conversation and I think you will, too!

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How David finally overcame a lifetime’s worth of bad eating habits.
  • How he was diagnosed with (and eventually dealt with) his spinal stenosis and heart condition.
  • The depression and anxiety he dealt with after his surgeries.
  • What made him decide that ‘enough was enough.’
  • How he changed his mind before he changed his body.
  • And so much more!
